Farming is what led to job specialization because advanced farmers ended up with extra food that could feed specialists like doctors, blacksmiths, soliders, and teachers. Because people were able to specialize, social stratification or the seperation of people based on occupation and income became common. A chiefdom is a form of leadership that is held by certain families. So, certain families became skilled in one things, while another family in another.
