The year 1776 was a turning point in American history since it is the year when the American Revolutionary War came to a conclusion.
This consequently led to the 13 North American British colonies declaring Independence and the birth of the United States of America.
The Independence of the United States eventually led to the expansion of the country westwards and the genocide of millions of Natives.
It also changed the history of the continent forever and gave rise to another nation, Canada in the North.
American political history usually starts from 1776 with the birth of the nation, the first elections and subsequent bill of rights and the development of the Constitution.
It is fair to say that if the Independence did not take place the whole continent and rightly, the whole world would have been a completely different place.
