For the most part that is true. People should be content with what they have and many would agree with that statement, however, there are times when people better themselves and I don't think this statement would apply to them. Then we have other situations where people are greedy and continue to want more and more, the statement People should be satisfied with what they have would apply to them because they already have enough but they want more.
