Locke's viewpoints and writings are still highly evident today. His focus on the idea of constitutionalism and a separation of powers are still seen in our own form of government. While his ideas were not taken verbatim from his writings, they were slightly modernized and placed into use in the Declaration of Independence and in the framing of the Constitution.
