The body maintains homeostasis by utilizing homeostatic control systems composed of three parts. the first part, the ___RECEPTOR_ , is the body structure that detects changes in a variable that is either the substance or process that is regulated. these usually consist of ___SENSORY NERVES__ . the change in the variable is the ___STIMULUS__ . The second component is the __CONTROL CENTER__ . It is the structure that interprets input from the receptor and initiates changes through the __EFFECTOR_ (the final component). this final component is the structure that brings about the change to alter the __STIMULUS_ .
Homeostasis can be defined as the process by which the body of a person maintains the steady internal conditions. This control system is composed of the three parts, namely the receptor, control center, and the effector. The very first part is the receptor, which is composed of the sensory nerves and it detects the changes occurring in the body. This change is known as the stimulus. The information about the stimulus is transferred to the control center via the sensory nerves. It initiates the changes in the body through the effector. It brings changes in order to alter the stimulus.
Hence, the blanks can be filled with ' receptor, sensory nerves, stimulus, control center, effector and stimulus' respectively.
