In a clock, a large gear completes a rotation every 45 seconds, and a smaller gear completes a rotation every 18 seconds. If the gears are aligned now, how many secs will pass before the gears are aligned again? Would i use Greatest common factor or least common multiple to figure it out?

use greatest common factor:

9 *2 = 18

9*5 = 45

 now multiply the factors:

9*5*2 = 90 seconds
