I'm because since the further plants, aka gas giants, are GAS. There is no land. The first planets are solid.

The solar system has 8 planets. The first four planets are known as terrestrial planets. These planets are closest to the Sun (Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars). The other 4 planets are known as the Jovian planets. The root word terra means "land". The closest 4 planets are known as terrestrial planets because they have rocky surface where as the Jovian planets are mostly composed of gases and do not have a solid surface.
