Which plate boundary and movement commonly create volcanoes that can result in the development of habitable islands? Explain how islands can be created by plate tectonics

Respuesta :

1:Plates move away from one another at divergent boundaries. This happens at mid-ocean ridges. Plates move towards one another at convergent boundaries; one plate is forced below another in a process called subduction.

2:
In areas where the plates come together, sometimes volcanoes will form. Volcanoescan also form in the middle of a plate, where magma rises upward until it erupts on the seafloor, at what is called a “hot spot.” The Hawaiian Islands were formed by such a hot spot occurring in the middle of the Pacific Plate.

Which plate boundary and movement commonly create volcanoes that can result in the development of habitable islands?

Convergent Plate Boundaries movement commonly create volcanoes that can result in the development of habitable islands.

The majority of the volcanoes are found in these geologically active borders. Divergent and convergent plate borders are the two types of plate boundaries that are most likely to result in volcanic activity.

Explain how islands can be created by plate tectonics.

Tectonic plates advance in the direction of one another and clash at a convergent plate boundary. This contact frequently causes the denser plate edge to subduct, or sink beneath, the less dense plate edge. Deep trench can be formed by these subduction zones. The pressure and temperature around the denser plate edge grow as it descends, changing the structure of the plate and melting the mantle above it. Melted rock then rises through the plate, occasionally erupting as a volcano.

Volcanic mounds can develop over millions of years until they reach the sea level and form a volcanic island. The tectonic plate underlying the volcanic island shifts. Over the time the larva accumulated due to the volcano eruption cools down  and forms a habitable island.
