4. Why is it important to know the terms related to the cardiovascular, blood and lymphatic systems? How can understanding the word parts relevant to these systems help you identify and interpret medical terms from medical documentation to address or treat various conditions

Respuesta :

It's important to know the medical terminology of cardiovascular, blood/lymphatic systems because others may reference them as such and it's good to know what they're talking about. Understanding word parts can help you deduce what is being said or what etiology is being used. Example: the word "cardiomyopathy". We can break it down into it's word parts. Cardio- (cardiac/heart); -myo- (muscle); -o/pathy (disease). You can see by breaking this term down that it means that there is disease of the cardiac muscle. Using these break down points can help a clinician treat the disease process correctly. Anything with the suffix of -itis means, "infection"; thus a clinician can treat said infection with the proper antibiotics.
