The light silicate minerals include muscovite, orthoclase feldspar, plagioclase feldspar, and quartz. Silicate minerals are rock-forming minerals that form more than 90% of the Earth's crust.  There are two types of silicate minerals: dark and light, according their color. The dark minerals include olivine, pyroxene, amphibole and biotite, while the light-colored silicates include quartz, muscovite and feldspar.
