Rocks and minerals form in response to Earth's internal and external processes.
Rocks and minerals form in response to The Internal and external processes exhibited by the earth.
Rocks are a deposit/composition of minerals, while minerals which are inorganic in nature occur naturally in the earth crust exhibiting an organized chemical and structural composition.
The formation of rocks are caused by both external and internal process exhibited by the earth, some of these process are :
- melting of molten magma due to volcanoes
- cooling of the molten magma to form Igneous rocks
- eroding/erosion of the soil to form a rock ( sedimentary rocks )
- deformation : breaking down of rocks to form a different kind of rock ( metamorphic rocks )
There are generally three different kinds of rocks formed by the internal and external process :
- Igneous rock
- sedimentary rock
- metamorphic rock
Hence rocks and minerals form in response to earths external and internal processes
