Brandy made 7 batches of cookies each batch contains 12 cookies she put the same number of cookies in each of 5 bags how many cookies were not put in bags

You'll be able to fit 16 full cookies in each bag, but have 4 cookies left over.   7x12=84   but 84/5=16.8  so what id was basically draw out he five bags, and put a batch in each bag.                                                                              

Bag 1: 12 cookies

Bag 2:12 cookies

Bag 3:12cookies

Bag 4:12cookeis

Bag 5:12cookies

 So far every bag has 12 cookies (1 batch in each bag, 5 batches). now we have two batches left. So, you would divide the 24 cookies evenly into the 5 bags. what I did to simplify it was take 20/24 cookies and divide them into 5 bags. now each bag has 16 cookies(Add 4 cookies to each of the 5 bags. 20/5=4) There are still 4 cookies left, and you cant divide them evenly among the five bags. So we have 4 cookies that were not put in bags.

Number of batches = 7

  • The total number of cookies made = (number of cookies per batch × number of batches)

  • The total number of cookies is = (12 × 7) = 84 cookies

To distribute 84 equally into 5 bags :

  • Total number of cookies / number of bags
  • 84 ÷ 5 = 16.8
  • This means that 16 cookies can be distributed equally into each bag.

The number of cookies left = 84 - (16 × 5) = 84 - 80 = 4

Hence, 4 cookies were not put in the bags.
