The freedom of speech is one of our rights within the United States Constitution. The freedom of speech gives us the right to speak our thoughts and ideas freely, you can speak negatively and positively, you have the freedom to choose. There is controversy over the freedom of speech because this can create conflict between the people and their government. The people may go against the ideas of the government and speak freely of this. This can lead to disagreements among the people that can lead to protests or violence. On the other hand, their has been controversy about what the government has deemed "unsafe" for the public and has the power to limit what the pubic can view and truly say at times. This has created controversy and conflict between the people themselves and the government.
