Anna goes to buy milk. At Store 1, the sale for milk is 3.49 for 1 gallon. At store 2, the sale for milk is 1.78 for 1/2 gallon. Which is a better deal?

1/2 price of 1 gallon = 1.78 gallons
price of 1 gallon= 1.78 gallons * 2
price of 1 gallon = 3.56

It is cheaper to buy milk at store 1 than it is at store 2, this is because at store 1 it costs 3.49 per gallon whereas store 2 it is 3.56 per gallon.

Store 2 has 1/2 gallon for $1.78

its easier to change the store 2 price to 1 gallon by adding the price, or by multiplying the price by 2
so store 2 has one gallon for $3.46

Store 1 = $3.49
Store 2 = $3.56
Store 1 has the better deal
