How does the author’s viewpoint change over the course of the passage?

Question 11 options:

She knows her new life will be better because she knows her mother is happy.

She still wishes she lived near the ocean but she accepts that she must live with her mother in the mountains.

She realizes that life in a small town in the mountains can be just as good as life by the ocean.

She has a hard time making new friends and still longs for her old friends

Respuesta :

In the first sentence of this passage, the author conveys a sense of happiness, in her mother's happiness. However, this viewpoint changes in the second sentence, and changes to a more conceding tone; she is coming to terms with moving and "accepts she must live with her mother". The third sentence of the passage takes the viewpoint of acceptance and understanding of her own fate. This viewpoint falls in the fourth sentence however, as the author conveys the tone of sadness and longing; she's having a "hard time" and "longs for her old friends".
