This is of course somewhat of a subjective question, but in general most would agree that Martin Luther King would be a hero because he stood up for what was right in the face of great adversity.

I feel the former president of the United States Barrack Obama is a hero. He was able to achieve more as a leaders in his first two years of presidency which includes; economic stimulation, bringing back the financial system that was falling, major changes in student loan programs, ensuring there is universal health care and of course the elimination of Osama bin Laden.
