There are 11 organ systems: the circulatory/cardiovascular system, digestive system, excretory system, respiratory system, urinary system, integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, endocrine system, nervous system, and reproductive system. Each system works together to help the body perform different functions. The circulatory/cardiovascular system helps with delivering oxygen and nutrients to cells, almost like the highway of the body and pumping blood throughout the body. The digestive system helps break down food into nutrients you need. The excretory removes waste from your body in the form of urine and sweat. Some people mistake poop as waste that is removes as well, but this is not true, since poop is just excess food that our body didn't use the nutrients of. The respiratory helps breathe in oxygen and exhale CO2. The urinary system removes waste like the excretory system, but only waste from your kidneys. The integumentary system is your skin, which is the first line of protection for your internal organs. The skeletal system helps support body movement. Body movement is done by the muscular system. The endocrine system is your hormones. Your nervous system is how your body responds to the enviroment around you. Finally, your reproductive system helps produce offspring to keep the species alive.
