To get residuals, you just do the [tex]y-\hat{y}[/tex] formula where [tex]\hat{y}[/tex] is the predicted one that you plugged into the equation and the regular y is the actual point that was on the graph. So for example, for x=5, you'd get the residual by plugging in 5 to the eqn which gives you 4.6(predicted) then you subtract that from the actual y value which was 5(hence the (5,5) ). So after all that rambling, the residual is 5-4.6 which is 0.4.
