Eleanor Roosevelt, the
former first lady and she was the longest serving first lady of the United
States fought hard to get women into
government and to see that new deal programs benefitted women.

D. Roosevelt started the programs to help recover the economic problems of the period
of Great Depression in 1930s, these programs are known as “New Deal”.
