2) Chordophone is simply any class of musical instruments whereby a stretched, vibrating string produces the initial sound. An example of this is the Violin.
3) A membranophone is any musical instrument which generates sound mainly by use of a vibrating stretched membrane. An example of this is a Bongo.
4) An idiophone is any musical instrument that generates sound by the vibration of the instrument itself, without using air flow. An example of this is the Gong.
