1) Mrs. Linde broke off her relationship with Krogstad because C. Krogstad could not support Mrs. Linde's mother and brothers. Even though Mrs. Linde was in love with Krogstad, she chosen another man for her marriage as she wanted to live with someone who could help to take care of her sick mother and small brothers. Both hearts were broken.
2) Mrs. Linde's proposal to Krogstad is that Mrs. Linde and Krogstad should C. marry. Since she became a widow she can freely love the man that she was in love with all that tough time. She offers him to make a family so that his children could have a mother and she could have someone to take care of.
3) When Torvald reads Krogstad's letter, Nora plans to A. commit suicide. Kongrad was out of himself with anger because he was fired. He wrote a blackmailing letter for Torvald in order to have a better a job and run the bank instead of him. Nora is afraid that Torvald can blame it on her and she comes up with an idea of suicide. But Krogstad says that this is not a solution as he would still have a power over Torvald.
