In the story, the children played hide-and-seek.
Ravi hid for a long time. He wanted to win the game. He endured being inside a small shed filled with dust and insect to ensure that he will win and he can brag about his victory.
However, when he emerged from his hiding place, he discovered that the others were already playing different game and they did not even notice that he was gone.
It is an ironic ending because Ravi felt very important only to realize that he is insignificant to his siblings.
