Can someone please explain me this I don't understand?

This equation will be in standard form if you subtract 6x^2 from both sides, add 30 to both sides and subtract 2x from both sides?
6x^2+2x-30=4x^2+9x

A:True
B:False

Can someone please explain me this I dont understand This equation will be in standard form if you subtract 6x2 from both sides add 30 to both sides and subtrac class=

Respuesta :

6x²+2x-30-6x²+30-2x = 4x²+9x-6x²+30-2x
0=-2x²+7x+30
Now we got -2x²+7x+30=0 this is standard form, so answer is A. True
This is true. They are just describing how they are changing the signs of each coefficient to add like terms.

As in 6x^2 and 4x^2 are like terms. 2x and 9x are like terms and 30 doesn't have any like terms but they are just trying to get both expressions to make one equation equal to 0.

6x^2+2x-30=4x^2+9x
-6x^2-2x+30=-6x^2-2x+30
--------------------------------------
-2x^2+7x+30=0

As you can see they just put two expressions into 1 equation equal to 0.

Hope that helped you! Have a good day!
