Respuesta :
Both synthesis and polymerization processes create chemically bonded combination of reactants. Synthesis is a reaction which uses various reactants to form one product, for example formation of water from hydrogen and oxygen. Polymerization illustrates the same process, wherein it uses simple monomer molecules in a reaction to create longer polymer chains, for example formation of proteins through polymerization of amino acids.
Chemical reaction is defined as the process in which one or more than one reactants are combined to form one or more products. The synthesis reaction is a type of reaction in which a chemically bonded product is formed by reactants.
The reaction in which chemically bonded combination of product is formed are:
- Synthesis reaction is a reaction in which two or more atoms or molecules combine to form a different compound. This compound is chemically linked. The example of synthesis reaction is formation of water by hydrogen and oxygen. This reactions are usually exothermic.
- Polymerization reaction is a type of reaction in which long chains of polymers are formed by similar monomeric units. For example, polyethylene is formed from the ethylene monomer repeated along the chain.
Reasons for incorrect answers:
- Decomposition reaction are those in which a compound or molecule breaks down into simpler forms.
- Replacement reaction is a reaction in which a reactive element replaces the another less reactive element.
Therefore, synthesis and polymerization reactions form products of combined reactants.
