Cause less water to be pulled up from the plants roots

Respuesta :

Cause less water to be pulled up from the plants roots.

The correct answer is option D, Cause less water to be pulled up from the plants roots

Reason -

The extent to which a stomata pores can get opened depends on two factors namely –

a) The amount of water available in the plant

b) The turgidity of the guard cell

The favorable condition for stomata to be opened is high amount of water available in the plant and high turgidity of the guard cell , which usually occurs during the night time when there are high chances of losing water from the plant body. Thus, stomata get closed at night to reduce water loss while it is open rest of the time in order to tarp energy from the sun for photosynthesis and also allow intake of carbon dioxide and oxygen gases.
