The products of aerobic oxidation are CO₂, H₂O and inorganic ions. Aerobic respiration is carried out in many organisms and consists of a series of chemical reactions which require oxygen and and glucose as the reactants. These reactions produce the above stated products along with energy. This energy is used in the formation of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which acts as the energy currency of the cells in the organism's body.
