Natural selection leads to evolution because the strongest survive and pass on their genes

Correct Question

Which best describes the relationship between evolution and natural selection?

Natural selection leads to evolution.

Evolution leads to natural selection.

Natural selection is the same as evolution.

Evolution and natural selection are not related.

Answer:

Natural selection leads to evolution.

Explanation:

Natural selection is the effects of selection pressure on the frequencies of a particular allele in a population. The process through which   the new sets of organism which  are naturally selected emerged, after long period of time is called Evolution.

Thus organisms with resistance to selection pressure, will have higher frequencies  allele in the population, and therefore  have a high selection advantage compare to organisms with  low resistance to selection pressure and therefore low frequencies of expression of their allele.

The higher frequencies of  allele is due to favorable mutation which altered their DNA, leading to variation. It is variation from mutations which altered their genotype and therefore favoured these organisms to have resistance against selection pressure, and therefore naturally selected as fitted population. The less fitted organisms  are selected against  by selection pressure, and they fizzed out.

The fitted organisms, reproduced to increases in population, with subsequent increase in  the population of their offspring, who inherited the resistant allele from them (parents) and therefore  dominated the population. After sometime their population   evolved in the environment.

Thus natural selection leads to evolution.
