A box of chocolates contains, on average, 24 pieces. If the number of chocolates in each box never varies from the average by more than four, what is the least number of chocolates that will be contained in three boxes? 8 pieces 20 pieces 72 pieces 60 pieces

Respuesta :

The smallest number in any one box would be 20 (24-4).

Therefore smallest amount of 3 boxes is simply 3*20 = 60
The answer is the last one! (60 pieces)

The number of chocolates in any box is within four of 24, so that means that
the number of chocolates could be 20 to 28.
So that means that it's possible that all of the three 3 boxes have the least amount of chocolates, which is 20.

3 * 20 = 60.
