Macbeth is wavering. This is because he is easily swayed with his wife wants. Oftentimes, he would resolve to violence to attain what his wife had asked him.

Banquo is meek because he is the total opposite of Macbeth. He did not use violence to attain the throne but rather he wants it to attain it in the right way.

Duncan. Duncan symbolizes loyalty. He was a good ruler and he trusts his people. He was not able to see his murder because he trusted Macbeth.
