Jem is a character who changes very importantly. Jem represents bravery and it is seen throughout his age shift throughout the book. He goes from 10-13 and at 10 years old he thinks being brave is touching the radley house but as he grows up he experiences true bravery when attics faces a mad dog, Mrs. Dubose's fight against her addiction, and scout's confrontation with the angry mob at the jail. All these experiences helped his character grow tremendously and he goes from being a young boy, to a mature gentlemen.
