What was the main point of the Fourteenth Amendment? the abolition of slavery giving citizenship to the slaves giving everyone the right to vote making it illegal to discriminate against a person because of their race

Respuesta :

The Fourteenth Amendment was one of three Reconstruction Amendments which, along with the 13th and 15th Amendments, was primarily there to establish equal civil rights to former slaves. Although it was mainly to provide legal citizenship to emancipated African Americans after the American Civil War in 1868. But they still faced intense discrimination until the near end of WW2 in 1945. I hope this helped.

I believe the answer is: Giving citizenship to the slaves

The fourteenth amendment was created during the reconstruction era following the end of the civil war. Through this amendment, million of former slaves from the confederate states were granted with citizenship and they were also given with some representatives in the government.
