A 0.12-kg softball is moving at 6 m/s when it is hit by a bat, causing it to reverse direction and have a speed of 14 m/s. what is the change in the magnitude of the momentum of the softball?

Initial momentum of the ball ( say p ) = 0.12×6 =
0.72 kg-m/s

Final momentum of the ball ( say P) = 0.12×14 =
1.68 kg-m/s

Change in magnitude =
P-p = 1.68-0.72
= 0.96 Kg-m/s
