what is the difference between and static and current electricity? give an example for each

Static electricity is caused by the build up of electrical charges on the surface of objects, while current electricity is a phenomenon from the flow of electrons along a conductor. 2. When objects are rubbed, a loss and/or gain of electrons occurs, which results in the phenomenon of static electricity.

Static electricity involves a build-up of electric charge which is released in a single burst. An example would be lightning. 
Current electricity is a continuous flow through a conductor, as seen in a wall outlet or a battery.
