Species become extinct in many different ways. They can become extinct because of hunting that humans do. They can become extinct because of the way their environment becomes. Like say theirs a drought and the animals that need the water can't get it. More and more of them will start to die. And they can be extinct because of their predators. Their predators can eat or kill so many until theirs less and less of them.
Pandas are endangered for a variety of reasons, including their struggle to reproduce, a poor bamboo diet, habitat degradation, and poachers.
Why are Pandas endangered?
- Habitat damage is one of the primary causes of panda population reduction.
- As China's human population grows, construction encroaches on pandas' habitat, forcing them to relocate to smaller, less habitable locations.
- Food shortages are sometimes a result of habitat loss. Pandas eat a variety of bamboo species that blossom at various times of the year.
- If one variety of bamboo is killed as a result of development, pandas may be left without food during the time when it blooms, increasing the danger of famine.
