A brave leader of the Third Crusade where he fought against Saladin. King Richard the Lionheart spent only six months of his ten year reign in England, claiming it was "cold and always raining."
Explanation:
Richard I, called Lionheart, or Coeur de Leon in French, as the third son of Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitane. He was coronated and didn't spend much on his reign in England. Richard I, made an expedition to Holy land of Jerusalem, to take it back from the leader of Ayyubid Dynasty, Saladin. Richard, made an alliance with French king, Philip II of France, and Frederick Barbarossa, the holy roman emperor. Sadly Barbarossa didn't made it, because he drowned on River Saleph, today called Göksu River on the journey. Richard the lionheart didn't got Jerusalem, He gave Jerusalem to Muslim control, but allowed the Christians to enter the holy city, by making the Treaty of Jaffa, signed by Richard and Saladin. He gave control to Cyprus and other cities, to their companions for this journey. Like, he gave Cyprus to Guy of Lusignan, a French Knight. Richard died in France, by a crossbowman shot crossbow in Richard's chest, and got Gangrene, which made a cause of death of Richard, the lionheart
