Teenagers are showing indifference to book readings now a days because more people have access to the internet. Most teenagers just want to be on social media and text message their friends rather than sitting down and reading a good book. This issue can be improved by more teachers encouraging the children to read more classics, or find a genre that they would like. For example: Fantasy, Adventure, Fiction, Historic Fiction, etc. If teachers would actually take the time to encourage this behavior and get their pupils to pick out a book and read it, it could easily get more teenagers reading.
