Sodium sulfate is slowly added to a solution containing 0.0500 m ca2 (aq and 0.0270 m ag (aq. what will be the concentration of ca2 (aq when ag2so4(s begins to precipitate? solubility-product constants, ksp, can be found here.

Respuesta :

We use concepts on the solubility constant to be able to answer this problem. We do as follows:

Ag2SO4(aq) = 2Ag(aq) + 2SO4(aq)

Ksp = 1.2x10^-5

CaSO4(aq) = Ca(aq) + SO4(aq)

Ksp = 4.93x10^-5

4.93x10^-5 / 1.2x10^-5 ( 0.05 ) = 0.205 M

Hope this helps.
