I always try to answer my own questions, but I'm having immense difficulty understanding French reflexive verbs. I have found that sometimes if I list a question and someone answers it that I can use that as reference point and, more importantly, something to build off. Without further ado...

Fill in the black with the correct conjugation of the verb in parentheses in the present indicative or in the infinitive. Ils (se promener) dans le parc le vendredi soir.

1. se promener
2. se promenent
3. se promène
4. se promènent

I sincerely appreciate any explanation or insight you may have to offer! Merci !

Bonjour,

It's : Ils se promènent dans le parc le vendredi soir.

Conjugaison du verbe "se promener" au présent de l'indicatif :

Je me promène

Tu te promènes

Il/Elle se promène

Nous nous promenons

Vous vous promenez

Ils/Elles se promènent

In your sentence, you've the subject : "Ils", so the verb will be conjugated (it can't be the answer 1), and it's "Ils", not "Il", so, we have to adapt the conjugaison (it can't be the answer 3).
So, you have the answers 2 and 4, but "ils se promenent" is wrong, so it is "ils se promènent".
