In the beginning, the girl (sorry I forgot her name I read this a few months ago) didn't want anybody to know that her mother worked. When on a rainy day her mom is late to pick her and her sister up from piano class, the girl gets an umbrella from the teacher. When they are going home she hides the umbrella under her skirt so her mom and sister can't see it, when her mom realizes there is something under her skirt she isn't paying attention to driving. Then they get into a car accident. Hope this helps!
