The primary disadvantage of the omniscient viewpoint is lack of clarity for the reader.
A main disadvantage of the omniscient viewpoint is the distance it creates between the reader and the characters.
In the omniscient viewpoint, the narrator knows everything about the characters and the plot. Consequently, it could result in confusion for the reader as well as a lack of clarity. Furthermore, the reader does not have connection to the primary characters.
In addition to this, the omniscient point of view commonly leads to head-hopping. Head-hopping refers to the negative consequence of quickly going from one character's point of view to another character's emotions or feelings within a short time.
