area of a triangle is A= 1/2 b x h and Area of a parallelogram is A=b x h. So I would say the area of a triangle is half of the area of a parallelogram. Or a parallelogram is double the area of a triangle.

The Area of triangle is numerically equals to the half of area of parallelogram.

We have, the area of triangle is the half of  product of its Base and Height.

[tex]A=\dfrac{1}{2}\ \rm Base\times\rm Height[/tex]....(1).

Similarly, the Area of parallelogram is the product of its Base And Height.

[tex]A=\rm Base\times Height[/tex]....(2).

From equation (1) and equation (2), it is clear that the area of triangle is half of the area of parallelogram.

Hence we can say that,

[tex]\rm Area(triangle)=\dfrac{1}{2}\rm Area (parallelogram)[/tex].
