The figure is made up of a semicircle and a rectangle.

The semicircle is on top of the rectangle with a solid black line around the circumference and dashed line along diameter connected to the the top length of the rectangle. This dashed line measures 5 meters. The rectangle has a solid black line on the two widths measuring 1 meter and the bottom length measuring 5 meters.

What is the approximate area of the figure?

Area = Area of rectangle + area of semicircle

Area of rectangle = 5 x 1 = 5 m^2
area of semicircle = πD²/8 = 3.14 x 5² / 8 = 9. 8125
Area = 5 + 9.8125 = 14.8125 m^2
