I wanted to take the time to thank you for the wonderful time I had during my vacation at Makeni. Your hospitality was incredible and your kindness will stay with me for a very long time.
Your delicious traditional cooking was one of the highlights of my time with you - it was so full of flavors and so comforting. I even learned to cook a few dishes from you so I can make them for my family back home.
The conversations we had over tea were our favorite time together. I could feel how passionate you are about your culture and traditions, and you gave me fascinating insights into local life. I have never learned as many important lessons on empathetic and humble living in such a short period of time as I did with you.
You also took me sightseeing - the area was beautiful and I was able to see new places. We encountered friendly locals and enjoyed plenty of traditional food while we were out and about.
Thank you again, Grandma, for the warmth, the delicious food you made me and all the stories you told me. It was a holiday that I won't ever forget.
