secondary response: the immune reaction going on on second and subsequent exposures to an antigen, with a stronger reaction to a lesser amount of antigen, and a shorter lag time in comparison to the number one immune response.
during the secondary immune response, the immune machine can take away the antigen, which has been encountered through the person at some stage in the primary invasion, more unexpectedly and effectively. both T and B memory cells make a contribution to the secondary reaction.
In a secondary reaction, the memory B cells precise to the antigen or comparable antigens will respond. while memory B cells reencounter their specific antigen, they proliferate and differentiate into plasma cells, which then respond to and clean the antigen.
