The degree of relative independence, capacity for accepting responsibility, and drive for achievement are characteristics of a mature person or group. As followers mature and go through life cycles, a leader's behavior becomes less structured and less dependent on socioeconomic support. As the leader and followers mature, the range of control should as well.
