You can answer the questions as suggested below, by asking yourself what kinds of values and principles would make a difference to improve society.

Rules for an ideal society

Activities such as this one require you to use your imagination. Of course we will never have a perfect, ideal society, but we can think of the issues of our current society and imagine them being corrected and solved. For example:

  1. In my ideal society, we would have rules such as "It is not allowed to psychically or emotionally abuse others," or "All citizens must recycle their garbage." It would be a society built with values concerning respect for oneself and others, respect for the environment and the planet, equality with respect for differences, etc.
  2. My vision would be different from Old Major's in the sense that I would not promote the idea of an enemy in my society.
  3. My vision would be different from my own society today. We still live in a world where people are not educated to respect. It is still normal to unnecessarily criticize and attack others. It is also okay to regard others as enemies. Those are behaviors that would not be accepted in my society.

Above, we have provided you with examples of answers to the questions in the prompt. Notice that the rules and society described above would be based mostly on respect.

The character that is mentioned, Old Major, belongs to the allegory "Animal Farm." He is the one that instigates the revolution in the farm, motivating the other animals to expel their human owner and take over. They attempt to created a perfect, equal society but, unfortunately, they fail.
