Regarding the debate over the ratification of the Constitution ---I agree more with the positions of the Federalists, as a strong central government was necessary for the profitable and political development of the United States in the 1800s.
Without this system, the United States of America would not have succeed as they had in transnational issues, because of lacking of a strong central governing body to manage those issues.

The Federalist Party was active from 1792 to 1816. It was created during the first Washington administration to support the financial policy of the Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton, being the party in favor of a strong civil state.
Its first leaders were John Adams and Alexander Hamilton, but their great reference is George Washington. Of all its members who wielded the topmost long- term influence was the President of the Supreme Court of the United States, John Marshall.
It was opposed to the Popular-Democratic Party of Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.
From 1793 to 1815, covering utmost of the period in which the party was, France and the United Kingdom were protagonists of serious conflicts the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars. These conflicts continually hovered America, and the two political parties distinguished themselves in their station from their protagonists.
Federalists respected and favored the United Kingdom, and Popular Republicans opposed the British monarchy and supported democratic France( until the induction of Napoleon as emperor in 1804). After 1804 Republicans continued to oppose the United Kingdom but were further hostile to France because of Napoleon's rejection of republicanism.
Why did the Federalists have further support than the Antifederalists?
The Federalists wanted a bill of rights to be added to the Constitution. The Federalists had support from people like Patrick Henry and John Hancock. The Federalists were state politicians who erected alliances across state lines.
