OOOhhh ok so
Bilbo escapes from Gollum by stalling for time in a game of riddles. After a while, Gollum accuses Bilbo of stealing his Ring, which at the time Bilbo knew nothing about. Towards the end of the game, Bilbo slipped on the Ring for the first time and discovered its power. He managed to escape from the Goblin caves, and from Gollum, because of the invisibility the Ring gave him. Hope this helps. :)
