C) Sandinistas
The Sandinista or the "Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional" emerged in the early 1960s as an oppositional organization to the rule of Anastasio Somoza (that started in 1936). This socialist party was mainly composed of youth students and organization, who adopted the name "Sandinista" after the Nicaraguan revolutionary leader Augusto César Sandino, considered as a hero by many.
By the early 1970s, the FSLN started to launch military initiatives, and in 1979, it finally achieved to establish a revolutionary government after having overthrown the Somoza Dynasty.
