Respuesta :

1) The thing which leads Algernon to suspect that Ernest/Jack is a Bunburyist is that he sees an inscription on a cigarette case. There was a suspicious moment  in this story when Algernon watches  Ernest as he takes out the cigarette case with the inscription "Uncle Jack" and it makes him suspect Ernest in leading a double life.

2)  The reason why Gwendolen always travels with her diary is
taht she believes people should always have something sensational to read on the train. She was
is bent on self-improvement and writing a diary can help people to understand themselves, to compare the present state with that described in the diary/personal notes and so on.

3)
The way how Jack finally discovers his father’s, and his, name is that Lady Bracknell tells him. She hinted him that he is related to General Moncrieff and then made him realise that his real name is Ernest, but it turned out that his true name is an advangtage for his marriage. He also finds out that his was given the same name as his father.

4) In The Importance of Being Earnest, the way how Algernon finds out where Jack’s house in the country is located is that he eavesdrops on Jack. I happeden during the conversation between Gwendolyn and Jack to get the information.

5) Being a bunburiest is when someone making a fake name in order to impress a woman. In the middle of a play Algernon accuses Jack of being a bunburiest because he thought he consciously hides his real name.

6)
Utilitarian is to frivolous as metaphysical is to earthly. According to the meaning of both words, they are opposite. As you know, metaphysics often deal with something supernatural but we can not tell the same about earthly, so I think this is the best choice.

7)  The best synonym for charming is definitely debonair as it brings as joyfull and deligtfull meaning as the word represented above. The other ones depend on a context and this word is the most relative to "charming''

8) According to the definition of a word ''
bewildered'' it is used to describe a person who is completely puzzled or confused. So, obviously, If someone is bewildered, he is confused.

9)  If a task is arduous, it is difficult to achieve. If you look through any dictionary for a definition of this word you will see that this adjective describes a job that requires hard work to get it done.

10) According to the general meaning of the sentence, there should be inserted the word that is meaningly close to the 'coolness' or '
calmness'. And among these options I recognized one suitable which embraces meaning of both words I mentioned : equanimity.

11) The best synonym for indecorous must be undignified, because according to the meaning of the word 'indecorous' it is going against  generally standards of good taste which is nicely concides with the third option.

12) The verbal irony is the correct answer. This is a tool which people in which say one thing and means  completely another one, usind the word choice that is opposite to the literal meaning. So I bet that verbal irony perfectly suits the task.

13) When t
he audience know something the character does not is a characteristic of a dramatic irony. It usually happens when the action of a play gains a situation which is understood by the audience but this is never grasped by the characters in the play due to its personal  traits or other particular reasons.

Do hope you will find these answers helpful.
